The Settlers, by Shimon Dotan, 2016. Israel. 107 minutes

The Middle East immediately brings to mind conflict, flow of refugees and unstable geographies. Yet, amid its complexities, we forget about its natural, cultural, religious diversity and the colorful landscapes, beautiful music and delicious food. The series aims to discuss contemporary issues in the Middle East through an interdisciplinary lens.

Each event will be introduced by one of the co-organizers of the Series, and followed by an Q&A session.

The screenings are open to the public and they are free.

The series is organized and co-sponsored by the student groups International Student Union and Hayat, History Department, International Affairs Program, MDOCS John. B. Moore Documentary Studies Collaborative, Zankel Chair Professor of Management and Liberal Arts in the Department of Management and Business, Environmental Studies and Sciences Program, and the Library.

Next screening: April 20, 6 pm, Emerson Auditorium, Yallah Underground (USA, 2015)
