His talk focuses on Jewish American composers: Kern, Berlin, Gershwin, Copland, Rodgers, Blitzstein, and Arlen, and how the legacy of Jewish immigration impinged dramatically on American musicals and operas.

This presentation is part of the Jacob Perlow Event Series and co-sponsored by the Office of Special Programs, Department of Music, and the Jewish Federation of Northeastern NY.  Funding is provided by endowments established by Jacob Perlow and by Beatrice Troupin.
