Megan Turnbull will deliver a lecture
entitled "Boko Haram in Nigeria and the New World
(Dis)Order"
Bio:
Megan Turnbull is a Ph.D. candidate in the
Department of Political Science at Brown University. Her research
interests include African politics, armed non-state actors, electoral violence,
ethnic conflict, and political development. Her dissertation project
explores subnational variation in state responses to militias in Nigeria,
looking specifically at cases of collaboration, toleration, and
repression. Megan has been conducting field research in Nigeria since
2011. Her fieldwork in Nigeria has been supported by the Smith Richardson
Foundation (2013-2014) and the Graduate Program in Development at Brown
University (2011-2012). Megan is currently a managing editor for the
journal Studies in Comparative International Development.
