Why
am I seeing others’ pronouns in their work email signatures? How do I share my
pronouns? What are neopronouns? If you’ve ever had these kinds of questions
this workshop offers a safe/brave space to ask them and learn more. A
collaboration between the PB Poorman Pride Center and the College of Education
and Professional Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the
intended audience for this workshop includes all faculty, staff, and students
who are interested in learning how they can be more gender inclusive in their
language with students and coworkers. Topics and skills covered include the
importance of gender inclusive language, gender pronouns basics and the
benefits of using them inclusively, how to share your pronouns, how to
respectfully ask for others’ pronouns, and how to practice and use pronouns that
may be new to you.
Presenter:
Dr. Quincy Meyers (ze/hir/hirs), LGBTQ+ Coordinator, University of
Wisconsin-Whitewater.
