Event Details - ArtSpirit

ArtSpirit believes art is communication not entertainment.  The spirit of art brings people closer together.  Art and music and drama have homes in museums, cabarets and theaters.  But sometimes we need a more intimate space and place for the magic of art to really work.  So the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life uses the Wilson Chapel for just such special artistic purposes. 

Danny Pravder's Thursday night series of brilliant jazz improvisations on piano and keyboard inaugurated ArtSpirit last semester and continues again this year.  He also hosts other campus groups to perform in the series.  The importance of this series to the community is that jazz parallels the improvisation our own lives require to be successful and fulfilled.  Jazz is playful, sensuous, responsive to change, interactive, alchemical--like we want to be!  Sit in the meditative space of the Chapel and engage with the moment.
