The annual Lester W. Strock lecture in the Geosciences will be given by Dr. Victor E. Guevara of Amherst College this year. He will share how his research on metamorphic rocks Nanga Parbat, located in the western Himalaya and ninth highest mountain on earth, furthers our understanding of the interplay between surface processes like weathering and erosion, with deep crustal processes associated with plate tectonic movement.
