This lecture by Carl Scott, Visiting Assistant Professor of American Studies at Christopher Newport University, will be the opening event of The Undergraduate Scholars Conference on the American Polity that will be taking place March 28th-29th.
The 2014 Undergraduate Scholars Conference on the American Polity features student presentations of noteworthy research relevant to the shared intellectual missions of the participating programs. Papers will address the principles and practice of American political life, and their roots in the Western tradition, from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, including philosophical and moral, historical, legal and constitutional, and religious and cultural inquiries.
