Join the CG 310 students for an interactive presentation and discussion
about sex, violence, gender, genre, satire, and more! The event centers around
the plot of Lysistrata,
an ancient Greek comedic play by Aristophanes, and Chi-Raq, a
2015 film adaptation by Spike Lee. The event will include a brief overview of
the two works, but attendees are encouraged to view the film or read a
translation of the play (both available online) beforehand. Come learn about
how a comedy from almost 2500 years ago can be relevant today! Light
refreshments will be served
