Joshua
Redman, the 1991 winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone
Competition, was part of the Zankel Music Center’s inaugural year, spending time
with Skidmore students in a two-day residency and wowing a sold-out audience in
the Helen Filene Ladd Concert Hall. His impressive career includes a total of
31 albums as a bandleader and sideman. The Bad Plus jazz trio has earned
widespread popularity for its unique blend of genres and entertaining live
performances. The Bad Plus Joshua Redman quartet has received extensive
critical acclaim for its self-titled debut album, released in May 2015.
