One of the most significant photographers of our time, Stephen Shore will be in conversation with Skidmore College Professor Emeritus of English Terence Diggory to discuss Shore’s work in This Place and his expansive, five-decade long career.

Stephen Shore (b. 1947, New York City, New York) has had work widely published and exhibited, with solo shows at the Museum of Modern Art, New York (currently through May 2018); Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; George Eastman House, Rochester; Kunsthalle, Dusseldorf; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Jeu de Paume, Paris; and Art Institute of Chicago.

Terrence Diggory is a professor emeritus of English at Skidmore College. His many publications on art and literature include William Carlos Williams and the Ethics of Painting(Princeton University Press, 1991) and, most recently, Encyclopedia of the New York School Poets (Facts on File, 2009).

This event is free and open to the public and will be followed by an opening reception for This Place.

The Dunkerley Dialogues are made possible by a generous gift from Michele Dunkerley '80.
