The 4th annual ‘Holiday Palooza’ event will be
taking place in the M. Aikens DHALL on Monday, Dec. 1st from
11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The event is sponsored by Christian Fellowship,
Hayat, Hillel, Newman Club and The Office of Jewish Student Life &
Interfaith Programs. The PALOOZA serves as both a fund raiser and a
celebration of the winter season.
Students and staff are able to ‘purchase a holiday
token’ such as a candy cane, dreidel, hand henna, etc., and the profits
of the purchase are donated to charity. This year the student clubs have
chosen to give to the WAIT HOUSE in Glens Falls, a
program Helping Homeless Youth in New York's Warren &
Washington Counties to provide Emergency Shelter,
Transitional Living, Aftercare and Permanent Housing Assistance Programs.
In exchange for your purchase, you are welcome to paint the
DHALL atrium windows with different decorations and expressions of the
season. In the past we have had greetings expressed in over 10 different
languages, and images ranging from Christmas Trees, Menorahs,& Kwanza
lights, to Snoopy. The window paintings are very beautiful and stay
up through the end of the semester. ( We want to thank DHALL and Facilities for
their assistance with this event.)
The program culminates with Skidmore Accapella groups
providing music from 6:00 to 7:00.
Please come join us on Monday, December 1st in
the DHALL atrium to donate a dollar and share goodwill & warm
expressions during our cold winter season. All are welcome.
