“Sustainable Urban Forestry: Digging In”.
All tree enthusiasts are invited to
the Twenty-Fourth Annual NYS ReLeaf Conference to be held July 14-16, at
Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York. You won’t be disappointed! The
conference, “Sustainable Urban Forestry: Digging In”, promotes the idea of
better managing your community forest to enhance the natural benefits of your
ecosystem.
Dr. Cornelius Murphy, the former
president of SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry will be the keynote
speaker. Dr. Murphy will discuss the water and the importance of it in terms of
healthy urban forestry management. Workshops will include a Forest Health
Update, a Grove of Grants, Utilizing Urban Wood Waste, A Globally Rare
Ecosystem in the Capital Region and Pesticide Injection Techniques. Tours
include a lantern led tour of the North Woods at Skidmore College, Saratoga DEC
Nursery tour and a tour of downtown Saratoga Springs. The conference workshops
are planned to provide a variety of topics that will be of interest to anyone
who is involved with urban environments and trees.
