If you are fans of classical myth and modern
dance, or if you want to learn more about how these disciplines can intertwine,
please mark your calendars for the week of October 5.
During this week, Classics
and Dance will present two interdisciplinary events about and inspired by
dancer and choreographer Martha Graham (1894–1991), whose repertory based on
Greco-Roman myth continues to delight and fascinate. Our first event is a presentation/demonstration of the Martha Graham technique and contemporary
dance-making, led by Dance faculty Bo Brinton (Visiting Assistant
Professor) and Emily Gunter (Assistant Lecturer, and Classics/Dance ’19).
Our speaker on Wednesday, Ronnie Ancona, will also be in attendance. All
members of the community are invited.
