Caroline Levine, the David and Kathleen Ryan Professor of Humanities at Cornell University, has spent her career asking how and why the humanities and the arts matter, especially in democratic societies. She argues for the understanding of forms and structures as crucial to understanding links between art and society. Her 2015 book, Forms: Whole, Rhythm, Hierarchy, Network, was named one of Flavorwire’s "10 Must-Read Academic Books of 2015”. It won the Modern Language Association's 47th annual James Russell Lowell Prize for outstanding book of the year. Caroline Levine is a riveting and inspiring speaker--not to be missed.
