Join us on Tuesday, April 30, at 8 pm, for the annual spring Tang/SEC concert. Boston-based singer-songwritter Sidney Gish will perform back to back with rapper and songwriter Cupcakke. Opening with a performance by a Skidmore student band, the show will be held outside the Tang on the lawn on the northwest side of the museum.

The show is presented by Skidmore College Student Entertainment Council (SEC) in collaboration with the Tang. This event is free and open to the public.

About the Performers
Sidney Gish is a songwriter and producer based in Boston, MA. Her first album, Ed Buys Houses, was self-released on Bandcamp in 2016. Her second album, No Dogs Allowed, was released on New Year’s Eve in 2017, receiving a 7.7 rating on Pitchfork and winning Album of the Year at the 2018 Boston Music Awards. Following the moderate internet success of No Dogs Allowed, Gish briefly toured with singer-songwriter Mitski in 2018. In March 2019, she performed at South by Southwest and was featured on NPR Music’s Austin 100. She was listed as one of Stereogum’s Best New Artists of 2018.

Elizabeth Eden Harris, known as CupcakKe, is a rapper and songwriter born and raised in Chicago. CupcakKe has been rapping since age 14, starting off performing poetry at church. She received the nickname CupcakKe as she began her rap career and first went viral in 2012. In the following years she has gained attention for her sexually charged anthems.

Her first album, released in 2016, gained attention from music publications such as Complex and PAPER magazine. She has since released multiple albums, mixtapes, and singles to critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, The FADER, and Pitchfork. CupcakKe is applauded for her sex positivity and unapologetically explicit, humorous, and playful lyrics while rapping about serious topics.
