"The Personal Cost of War in Ukraine Through a Young Girl’s Eyes: Then and Now”
This event will be a book panel for the new book “Dominica’s Story: A Life of Courage, Love and Hope” which is co-authored by Skidmore senior Kaitlin McQuade and Political Science Professor Kate Graney. It brings to life the amazing story of Dominica Annese, who was separated from her family at age 5 during World War 2 in Ukraine, only to be reunited with them 30 years later, to live a full and wonderful life, and live to see war come to her homeland again. Kaitlin and Kate will present Dominica’s story and the book, connecting it to contemporary events in Ukraine.
There will be a Q and A and a book sale / reception featuring Ukrainian cookies after the event.
