Jonathan Franzen is author of the National Book Award winning novel, The Corrections and most recently of the L.A. Times Book Award winning novel,  Freedom .  He is also author of two earlier novels, The Twenty-seventh City and Strong Motion in addition to two collections of essays, How to be Alone and Farther Away. He is a frequent contributor to The New Yorker and other important magazines. His translation of three long essays by the Austrian writer Karl Kraus , The Kraus Project: Essays by Karl Kraus,  will come out in October.  Book signing by the author following the lecture.
